What Does It Mean to Heal Someone?
What does it mean to heal someone, not just treat a symptom, but see the whole person in front of you?
This is a question that I have been asking myself from both sides of the bed for most of my career.
As a critical care nurse, I met people on the worst day of their lives. I stood at bedsides fighting to stabilize a heart, a set of lungs, a blood pressure that wouldn't hold. I became nearly an expert at treating crisis. But there's a version of care that never happens in an Intensive Care Unit: the conversation before things fall apart. The chance to ask someone what their life looks like when they feel strong, and help them build toward that, instead of pulling them back from the edge.
That gap sat with me for years. But honestly, my story with all of this started long before I ever put on scrubs.
I've struggled with my weight for most of my life. Not in an abstract, someday-I'll-deal-with-it way, but in the everyday, exhausting, tried-everything way that so many women know. I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy, which is its own kind of wake-up call. I also carry a strong family history of cardiovascular disease. This means you don't just watch the people you love with worry, rather you also watch yourself, too, wondering which parts of their story might end up being yours.
So, when GLP-1 medications came into my life, I wasn't just evaluating them as a clinician reading a study. I had a front-row seat to what they could actually do, in my own body, my own energy, my own relationship with food and with myself. I watched years of struggle start to loosen. That wasn't just a professional interest anymore. It became personal proof of what's possible when the right tool meets the right moment in someone's life.
That experience didn't just support my wellness journey, it shaped it, and it's the real reason Indulge exists.
I built the kind of practice I wish I'd had. Somewhere that treats prevention with the same seriousness as crisis. Somewhere that pairs GLP-1 programs and peptide therapy with real labs, real follow-up, and real conversations.
If you've spent your whole life fighting your body instead of working with it, come see what changes when someone finally sees the whole picture.
